# Billing

> Choose a plan, manage your subscription, and download invoices.

## Overview

Choose a plan based on the expected scale of your servers and the features you want them to have. Nodex currently offers the Free and Hobby plans, with more plans to appear soon. Every plan includes realtime metrics, backups, and the file browser. Payments are processed by [Paddle](https://www.paddle.com/).

To manage your subscription, open [Settings > Billing](https://nodexpanel.com/settings/billing).

## Plans

### Free

Includes 1 server. Use it to try out Nodex for as long as you need. The free plan has no expiration date and does not require a payment method.

### Hobby

Includes 3 servers. Intended for small groups of friends. Costs \$8.00 per month (with -25% early access discount).

When you reach your plan's server limit, the server creation page asks you to upgrade.

## Subscribe to a plan

To upgrade from the free plan:

1. Open [Settings > Billing](https://nodexpanel.com/settings/billing)
2. In the **Upgrade Plan** section, choose **Monthly** or **Yearly** billing
3. Click the upgrade button of the plan you want
4. Complete the payment in the checkout window

An early access discount appears on a plan's price when one is available.

## Change your plan

To switch to a different plan or billing interval, click **Update plan** in the **Subscription** section. Nodex shows a summary before you confirm, including the amount you are charged and the date of your next billing cycle.

Depending on the change, Nodex applies the new plan immediately with a prorated charge, or at the start of your next billing cycle.

## Payment method

Paddle manages your payment method. Click **Update** in the **Payment Method** section to open Paddle's page for updating it.

If a payment fails, Nodex shows a banner asking you to update your payment method to avoid interruption.

## Transactions

The **Transactions** table lists your payments with their date, total, and status. Click the <Icon icon="download" color="#FFFFFF" /> button at the end of a row to download the invoice.

## Cancel your subscription

To cancel your subscription:

1. Open [Settings > Billing](https://nodexpanel.com/settings/billing)
2. In the **Cancellation** section, click **Cancel**
3. Confirm the dialog

You keep access to your plan until the end of the current billing cycle. The **Subscription** section shows the date your subscription ends.

To keep your subscription, click **Resubscribe** before that date. Your next charge is processed on the next billing date.
